Awesome school. Lots of school spirit and beautiful campus. Go Stangs!

The Campus Life surrounds the Workday Student Center building that houses the library and cafe and student center. Classroom buildings surround the WSC, Admin building, Performance buildings and Gyms.

Amazing academics, and great access to resources and teachers who care, but the pressure that is put on the students is nearly unbearable for most. Beware the high standards and he prepared to be a full time student because the work expected to be done is always an overload. Also, there is racism becaus of a sense of entitlement, fostered by many privileged kids.

I really like this school. Its a beautiful campus, nice teachers, great class content and all that good stuff. The only thing I really hate about this school is knowing that no matter how many assemblies this school has or how many punishments are given out, it still seems like some people are just JERKS. I feel like the bullies at this school think that they are entitled to something because they live in danville. I myself live in danville and don't see the point in putting people below me. We're all human. We all deserve the EXACT same treatment- It really doesn't matter what your race or sexuality is, but some people just don't seem to understand that. Sadly, me and my friends have been through some pretty rough times at MV, and we're only sophomores. I can only hope that the bullies here realize how bad their words can hurt somebody- I hate seeing people get hurt.

Monte Vista High School has changed dramatically since it was opened in the fall of 1965 with 200 students and 13 teachers in a small community center outside of San Ramon High. The school moved to its current campus in early 1966, but it only consisted of a few buildings. Today Monte Vista is a National Blue Ribbon and California Gold Ribbon School and in 2018 the 50th Class of MV will graduate 650 proud students.

The new administration is friendly, accessible and led by the SRVUSD Administrator of the Year, Principal Kevin Ahern. Assistant Principals Megan Keefer, Liz Pagano, Kenny Kahn are terrific. Athletic Director Andy Popper, Activities Director Andrea Greco and High School Office Manager round out the Admin Team.

This school has such potential to grow and become a really great school...it has a lot of charm to it...good spirit, lots of clubs and opportunities and plenty of really good classes...the theatre programme is really fun and a really welcoming environment...and most of the teachers are well rounded and understanding of their students needs...but I also have some pretty bad issues concerning this school...the first is that social status matters more than anything...even the wellbeing and emotional state of your friends and classmates...which means hierarchy is a constant thing and to climb the ladder people will go to extreme lengths...which means that people get alienated and isolated VERY quickly...a majority of people fall into some sort of clique and if you don't conform to this is is really hard to find your way without being ostracized or in the least given a dirty look. A lot of kids there believe they are more deserving of things than others...and it really dampers the mood...if you don't follow the crowd...you get either completley forgotten about...or they NEVER leave you alone...its kind of a pick your poison situation. But...a lot of kids there are some of the sweetest people you will meet. It's basically a never ending cycle and with the ever changing social statuses it's just one huge mess at times...you can easily find yourself overwhelmed. If I had to give advice I say...do your own thing and don't think you HAVE to do anything because you dont...and don't worry about self entitled brats...focus on killing them with kindness...
